WEEK 17 SATURDAY #KPI BASKETBALL (as of 3/8/14)

#KPI Headlines:

  • #KPI Excel resumes ranked by #KPI value per game (through March 7), #KPI by Team (through March 7) and #KPI by Conference (through March 7). A more thorough weekly update is also available.
  • Harvard clinched the Ivy League regular season championship on Friday, also clinching a bid to the NCAA Tournament in the process (the Ivy League is the only conference without a conference tournament). Harvard is currently No. 34 in the #KPI and has one game remaining (at No. 224 Brown tonight)
  • High Point lost in the quarterfinals of the Big South Tournament on Friday. By virtue of being the top seed in the tournament and losing, they are the first automatic qualifier (AQ) to the NIT.
  • Notes on Rule Changes: Note the discrepancy between #KPI and NCAA data is how games against Non D-I schools are counted (4.0% of the data)

#KPI NCAA Tournament Field of 68 (through March 7): Automatic bids from the 32 conferences are determined by the top remaining seed in the conference tournament if that conference’s regular season is over.  If not, the AQ will temporarily be determined by best conference record, then best overall record, then best #KPI.  This list is comprised purely by math with no scrubbing.
